- Serge is a 12.2, 7yr old chestnut gelding. We’ve owned him for a year and a half and he was bought to teach my daughter how to ride a second pony and he did just that! He’s not a complete first pony as he is sensitive and when jumping can be super speedy! He’s a lovely boy that wants to please and is so fun to have around but he’s sadly too small for my daughter now who is 12 and has another bigger pony to ride.
Serge loves hacking and will go first or last, alone or in company and isn’t phased by traffic. He can go out on the windiest day and it wouldn’t bother him. My daughter does everything with him but she is 12 and is very used to him now. He can be left for weeks and be brought out for a hack or school and never puts a foot wrong! Has done some lead rein but would be a responsive lead rein pony.
He does have a slight weakness in his stifles, we have found that strenuous work loads and lots of jumping tend to make him quite tense and I think this is due to him being a little uncomfortable. However, He has never been lame with this and I have full scan reports from the vets and am happy to go into detail with any potential buyers. For this reason I am looking for a low level/hacking home for him as I just don’t think it would be fair to him to be sold as a competition pony as I do think it would be too much for him all the time. that being said he has taken my daughter around 50 and 60 cm winning on their first time out. He would enjoy the odd jumping class and would be happy with this. He has done pony club activities including team jumping. Id love to find him the home where he will be loved and appreciated. He is up to date with everything and will load and travel like a dream in both trailer and lorry. Lives in or out and is easy to keep.
