- 13.3hh (takes up the leg) palomino and white gelding, 8 years old.
Sweet, genuine boy who aims to please, but is sadly, not quite right for my eldest daughter who is a novice rider and a little nervous as she’s on the spectrum. He would be an ideal second pony for all pony club / riding club activities or a fun mother / daughter share. He has hunted (not with us) and was often used to whip in. With his previous owners he has been to various riding club rallies, fun rides and has competed SJ at many local venues. He had recently qualified for the sunshine tour. In the short time we have had him, we have taken him to a PC rally and a couple of arena hires, where he behaved impeccably and loaded and travelled well.
My youngest daughter has had fun jumping a small course of SJ up to 60cm with him – I do feel he has scope for a little more and is very honest into a fence and enjoys his jumping. He does need a confident rider who will ride him forward and who is also able enough to handle him as he can be a little strong. He would benefit from some schooling as he is also a little green in the arena, but I think he will be a super all-rounder and will ride a great dressage test with a little time and patience in this area.
We have hacked him both alone and in company. In his previous home he has also been broken to drive and regularly drove with them.
He’s very easy to do, has a kind nature and a calm temperament. He is happy living in a mixed herd with us and his previous yard and is a good doer. He is used to living out but will happily stable. He does prefer company when in the stable. He loves his food and comes to call for his dinner!
All history is known as his previous owner has had him all his life. He has passed a recent vetting, and all vet history is available.
He is good to catch, clip, with the farrier (he is currently barefoot) and loads onto a trailer or lorry. Will come with a recently fitted saddle if required for an additional cost. Home is very important for this special pony and both myself and his previous owner would love to hear how he is getting on in his new home. Based in Surrey.
