- Sad decision to sell our beautiful 17 yr old 14’2 grey Connemara (green passport) gelding. He has been shared by my two teenage daughters for 4 years but sadly, their interest & commitment has waned. Not a novice ride. Whisper needs a confident, competent and quiet rider to get the best from him. His ground work is sound and he has been well schooled. He enjoys jumping but has the odd stop will take his confidence from his rider. His jumping has really improved over the last year, but Whisper is not right for someone that wants a SJ superstar. He has done a little XC which he seems to like, we’ve been lucky to have been able to keep his work varied. My eldest daughter enjoys relaxed hacks with and without company but he has been a little anxious in open spaces with my youngest daughter. He has been placed in Virtual dressage, he has three balanced paces and works in a nice outline. He has many years left, He may be 17 but loves his work & has plenty left to give! Temperament wise he is lovely. Easy for the farrier, vet & dentist. He loads easily and aside from the odd occasion in summer where the grass is just too tempting, he is easy to catch. Whisper enjoys being pampered and having time spent with him. Jabs, teeth, feet are all up to date. Health wise he had a large melanoma on his forehead removed in 2023 and we had his back heels lifted for a period to help with his hocks but is back in regular shoes. He is fit & looks great. The next home is the most important consideration for us. He needs to be loved, feel safe & be able to trust his humans. Lives out during the summer which he enjoys in through the winter.
