Description
Blossie - honest advert 15’1/ 15’2 Connemara x Irish draft mare Rising 7 this year Blossie is now looking for her forever home. I purchased Blossie as a unbacked 4 year old in 2022. As far as I am aware she lived on her breeders dairy farm in Ireland until she was 3/4 years old. From there she came to England which is when I purchased her. I have brought her on very slowly. Due to lack of facilities, I’m stabled alone on a private yard and I work full time I feel like I am not doing her justice. I want blossie to go to a knowledgeable home with a confident, experienced and kind rider. Absolutely no novices. Blossie is fantastic in lots of ways, she is easy to catch, groom and tack up. She’s happy to stand on the yard with a haynet while being fussed over. Blossie loves to hack, she is forward going and brilliant in traffic but is young horse and can be very spooky and sensitive at times. She hacks alone and in company. Mostly hacks alone! My partner rides an electric scooter next to her or brings the dog! She has never reared or bucked while being ridden but she will shoot forwards if she’s unsure of something scary in the hedge! She’s young, green and lacks confidence, she isn’t nasty. I feel she now needs to start seeing more of the world. I would love nothing more than to see her out having fun at riding club things, I’m sure she would make a great hunter too. I’ve hired many schools and trailered her out to local woods. I can load her up on my own and take her anywhere, she’s brilliant to come off the trailer in new locations and is happy to stand while being tacked up. She is good to be ridden on grass and stands at the mounting block perfectly at all times. Due to lack of facilities and time (2 jobs and house renovation going on) blossie has only really hacked over the winter. She hasn’t done a lot of schooling or jumping but is keen to learn. Again, she just lacks confidence in these areas. She needs someone with time, patience and confidence to see her true potential. If she’s spooked she will shoot forward with a rider that is nervous, much like out hacking. Some riders absolutely wouldn’t be fazed and I know with a strong rider she doesn’t do it. Blossie would thrive on a busy yard with lots to see, last year she was on livery for two months at a yard much busier than her home live which she very much enjoyed. If you are nervous, lack facilities or want to bring her on to sell her - don’t message me!! Only contact me if you are serious about producing a horse to keep. I’d absolutely love to keep in contact, this is absolutely heartbreaking for me but I don’t believe I can give her the life she deserves nor do I have the confidence to take her to the next steps. She is priced to find the perfect home. Also note she has two small sarcoids which do not bother her nor are they in areas of tack. But unfortunately very common being grey. I’m in absolutely no rush as this has to be the right person for Blossie. Please call me for more information and videos.
