- If you are looking for the perfect, all-rounder, Pony Club pony, Star is the one for you!! Star is a 14.2hh, 13yr old Arab x Welsh Bay mare with recorded breeding. She has been very sadly outgrown so we are selling as moving onto horses. She is the perfect all rounder, having successfully competed with us in SJ, XC, Dressage, JWS & Working Hunter. She loves going hunting, to the beach, to PC rallies, hacking and on pleasure rides. (Videos of all of these available) She has competed NSEA/Pony Club/unaffiliated and is fast against the clock in SJ, comfortably jumping up to 90cm, covering ground, capable of tight turns and always in the rosettes. However, she is also very happy to step down and take younger riders around cross poles, always looking after her rider and trying her best. She has recently been ridden by a much younger rider at Pony Club so has plenty of scope for someone looking to move up the levels. Star has 3 well balanced paces and therefore does a nice dressage test. She jumps XC comfortably around 80cm and has working hunter potential, having previously won the novice qualifier at ESUK and placing in the Championship at her first ever working hunter competition. She has competed at the NESA National Championships at Hickstead the last 2 seasons and come home with rosettes in SJ and JWS. Star is well behaved at shows, rallies, around other ponies and in a busy competition warm-up environment and doesn’t change after time off. She is excellent for the farrier, dentist, stands happily to be clipped, loads and travels well in trailer or lorry - she is happy to stand on the box at shows and be stabled at away shows. Star is very respectful of fences - electric is not needed; she has lived both a herd and individual turnout and has both lived out and been stabled at night whilst with us. She will hack out alone & in company, at the front or at the back but gains confidence from her rider with large vehicles. The right home is so important as Star is a very special mare and with the right rider she will go far - She is not suitable for very young riders or very nervous riders. Star has never been sick or lame in her 3 years with us, nor in her previous home. However, we are aware she will not pass a 5 stage vetting and this is reflected in her price.
