- Benjamin Button, 14hh, 20 year old British Riding Pony. We have owned Benji for the past 4 1/2 years and he has now sadly been outgrown. In the time he has been with us he has taken my then nervous daughter from trotting over cross poles to confidently representing her pony club in team showjumping and dressage competing at regional championships for the past two Years. An active member of our local pony club benji has done most pony club activities and regularly attends rallies and competitions. Benji works well on the flat and has three nice paces and produces a lovely dressage test. He is a responsive, forward ride but does have brakes! Benji loves to jump! He is bold and brave and jumps with a smile on his face! Currently showjumping courses of 90cm he has competed at both 70cm and 80cm for Pony Club at events including Osberton Pony Club team showjumping, Arena UK Pony Club Spring Festival and Pony Club Regional Championships. Benji is not phased by a big atmosphere and takes it all in his stride. Benji also loves cross country, tackling, water, banks steps and ditches without hesitation. They have taken part in pairs hunter trials, qualifying for the Eland Lodge Hunter Trial Championships in 2024. Benji has completed three pony club camps, and been away on beach holidays and is always well behaved and easy to do. He is great to hack both alone and in company, good with traffic and in open spaces. Easy to do on the yard. He really is an amazing pony and if he were bigger he wouldn’t be going anywhere! Benji is not suitable for a nervous or novice rider as he is a sensitive pony. He would suit a quiet, balanced, competent rider. Benji is very much loved and will only go to the best home. Benji does have arthritis in his hocks which we do currently have medicated once a year. Benji also needs sedating to be clipped. Up to date with vaccinations, physio and dentist. Sold with tack and rugs.
