- Noah is a fabulous example of a French Trotter (not Selle Francais but that was the closest option and I had to pick one). He is forward going but safe and really good fun. No buck, rear or bolt but he can get a bit joggy / on his toes when he’s excited. Takes a confident novice (and saves them if they lose their balance) but would be too much horse for a nervous rider. He was a formidable, versatile racehorse and holds the British 2-mile trotting record — he only retired (reluctantly) as there are no races for horses of his calibre within a 6-hour drive and that’s no fun for anyone. He would be exceptional at endurance as he has an incredible ‘engine’ and loves to work. His manners on the ground are impeccable. Easy to catch, shoe, load, travel, groom, wash etc. This boy has seen it all and is not phased by anything (not even alpacas!). He hasn’t seen fast or heavy traffic but is very confident with the light traffic on our lanes. Open to vetting. Not open to trial (unless he stays on my yard) as it’s not fair on the horse, sorry.

I buy French Trotters and Standardbred pacers at the end of their racing careers and turn them into riding horses. After 20 years of racing my own Standardbreds and enjoying a range of ridden disciplines with the same horses at the same time, I have become a huge advocate for the breed. I have great contacts in racing and a lot of experience of the breed.
