- Description
- 15.3 10 year old bay mare by Renkum Rock and Roll x Major de la Cour. Dam jumped up to 1.35m. Grand dam on the sire’s side is Wiston Bridget who jumped the Hickstead Derby with Tim Stockdale.
This is a lovely horse who is looking for a new home as a broodmare or with someone who has the time to restart her ridden career. She is very smart and scopey.
Sprocky has predominately been a broodmare. She has always taken first time, foaled easily and produced big correct foals.
She was professionally broken and ridden away as a 6 year old, hacking out and jumping around a small course of fences, proving easy and forward thinking.
Sprocky is sound and healthy and there is no reason she couldn’t pick back up her ridden career with someone experienced but she has currently not been sat on for 4 years and therefore is sold from the field.
Equally she could continue as a broodmare, her foals have sold well in the past in the UK to established showjumping homes and we’ve retained her colt from last year.
Sprocky’s strengths:
She is a lovely character who wants to connect and create a bond, loves carrots and attention
She has always been sound and healthy - only seen the vet for breeding purposes or vaccinations
She was bought from her breeder so full history known.
Recently been trimmed and teeth done
Forward thinking when ridden
Good conformation and feet
Good jumping technique and scopey
Super paces and active hind leg
Sprocky’s weaknesses:
Needs patience when loading, takes a while and then will just walk on but you can’t rush her and needs time spent on this – she has travelled to and from stud etc but not regularly travelled and believe she will get better with practice
Has been seen to weave at tea time but as long as she has a weave guard on stable this is not an issue – reflected in the price
Great opportunity for the right person to buy a quality horse at a reasonable price, however she is not suitable for a novice home.
Photo of last year's colt and video of previous year's filly and Sprocky on lunge pulled out of the field yesterday over a fence.
5 Star, experienced home wanted as she is much loved but we are concentrating on jumping the older horses this year and will not be putting her in foal, so would like her to find a lovely private home where she will be cherished.
