- With a heavy heart we are putting my daughters pony up for sale. We have only owned him since early October, we bought him to be that next step 2nd pony but unfortunately he’s just a bit too much for her. Lenny is a 12.2, 14 year old Welsh B (with a bit of Hackney thrown in so is a flashy mover). He’s a typical cheeky Welsh pony, very lovable and we have fallen in love with him in many ways so this hasn’t been an easy decision. He has with previous owners done show jumping, dressage, many clinics and pony club activities. We’ve only done a couple of rallies over the winter and he was well behaved. He hasn’t done anything naughty/dangerous, he’s simply too sharp for the level my daughter is at the moment. On the ground my daughter can lead him in and out from the paddock on her own, she grooms/picks feet out on her own, he loves a groom/fuss. Up to date with dentist, shoes, worming, physio and saddle checks. Lives in or out. We’ve only been out in the trailer a couple of times but he loaded fine. Serious enquiries only, this is an incredibly difficult decision but we have to accept they are not compatible, she’s only 7 and isn’t experienced enough. I think perhaps he’d suit a slightly older child with a bit more experience under their belt, with a desire to have fun and do low level competitions/pony club would be ideal. Mid 4’s.
