- Description
- Jessie is a Fell x mare.
She has been in a Pony club home for the past 3.5 years, competing in a range of disciplines from showing, jumping to x country.
Jessie will load and travel well in trailer (never tried her in a lorry) and ties up quietly whilst waiting for her class or lesson.
She hacks out nicely, we have lots of farm traffic, donkeys, cows, pigs etc that she has to cope with and she does so without any hassle. She strides out well and covers the ground nicely- she enjoys hacking out and seeing the world.
She is good to clip, groom and is polite in her stable- my children groom, rug and feed her without my concerns.
She has attended a number of arena hires and PC rallies.
She turns out in a mixed herd or alone.
Jessie is for sale as my eldest daughter has given up and with three other ponies at home, I don't have the grass or time to keep one that is not in work. My daughter is 10. Her previous family had a 9 year old girl so she is used to young children riding.
Jessie has always been ridden by children, although I have occasionally ridden her when my own horse is out of work, but for this reason her schooling would benefit from tidying up- she is safe and responsive and happy to bimble round the arena with her child rider- she does not buck, rear and has not bolted with us, however she would benefit from some work before going out to do a dressage test. She would benefit from someone teaching her how to be ridden in a correct outline-I suspect no one has ever really taken the time to do this. She enjoys jumping and so would suit a home who will mix up the flatwork with a bit of hacking, jumping or even hunting- she is surefooted and good around hounds etc.
She has been out hunting with her previous home. She is also pretty enough to take out showing.
