- Full up 12.2hh Beautiful British Riding Pony for sale, When we got Poppet, my daughter could only walk and trot and over the last 3 years she has taught my daughter to ride independently. She is the perfect Lead Rein pony, you don't actually need a rope she will follow you anywhere and over anything. Perfect stable manners, will stand to be groomed for hours, easy to catch, loads herself in a box or a trailer, is turned out with another with no issues and is excellent to clip (except fully clipping her legs and ears so I leave them). Farrier has said she is his best behaved customer - shod on her two fronts. My daughter has shown her at local level, in hand and ridden where she behaves impeccably. She also competes regularly at local jumping shows and gymkhanas both on the lead and then off. We have always been placed every time out. Has done two low level ODE's with the pony club where she won the first one assisted, and finished this year on her dressage score unassisted to take second place. She also won the 50cm jumping class this year at the PC show. Poppet is a careful jumper and can do a lovely dressage test. Easy of the leg, has beautiful paces and holds herself in a natural outline. She has a lovely rocking horse canter but can step up the gears when required. Hacks alone (with my husband on foot) or in a group and in traffic. Great with farm vehicles as is stabled on a working farm. Has done all PC activities. At home Poppet can easily jump 70cm over single fences, but we have found her more consistent at shows up to 50cm without fillers. The smaller jumping video (without dad running) was my daughters first off the lead showjumping, where she was placed 3rd. The other jumping video is 50cm. She has never not been placed in the top 6. My daughter handles her by herself with ease, including taking to and from the field and tacking up. Poppet really is easy to do in all ways, including at shows. Will come with full wardrobe (including leather synergy saddle which fits her well). Ridden in a wilkie, and has a snaffle for dressage. Up to date with vaccinations, teeth and back checks. Poppet has taught my daughter a great deal and we love her dearly, she is only for sale due to being outgrown. She is a very sweet mare, who has some very special stand out qualities with something about her, but can sometimes be sharp and sometimes buck - never when on the lead (she is perfect LR) or when in the show ring where she is foot perfect. She was recently diagnosed with Cushings which is managed by Prascend with no issues and has reduced sharpness. With this in mind I am keen that she goes to an experienced home.
