- Description
- Jester has quite the dressage and showing CV. With his previous owner he was competing at Prelim level (55 pts) and has many top showing accolades to his name, including winning at Hickstead and Royal International. He is also trained in side-saddle and has competed at Royal Windsor, Bath & West to name a few...
With us he has done a bit of everything and been ridden by both my daughters as a lead-rein/FR and 1.5 pony. We've done hacking, fun rides, dressage, pole clinics, musical ride training, show jumping, barrel racing, polocrosse and mounted games. But he enjoys and excels in dressage/showing, so this is the home we would love for him with some low-level PC and hacking thrown in!
Great to hack out and safe in open spaces. Behaves the same at home or a busy show. 9yo daughter brings him in, picks out his feet and tacks him up by herself.
Good to handle, catch, bath, clip, load and for the farrier and dentist.
Will happily jump around a course up to 40 cm and is beautifully schooled, working in a lovely outline. He gets comments wherever he goes!
Never bolted, reared or bucked with us, but has chucked in a cheeky bronc, however only doing Junior games when pushed. He's taken my youngest off lead as a FR, but we accept he isn't a robot and doesn't enjoy the fast pace of Juniors, although will happily trot up and down for Junior Novice.
He does have sweet itch, but as long as he's kept clipped and rugged all year round, it causes him and us no problems. Has history of laminitis, so requires restricted grazing during the spring/summer.
Will only consider homes that are happy and experienced managing the above.
He is 22, but has been VERY well looked after during his life. He looks and moves like a 10yo, is in beautiful condition and has plenty of years left to be out teaching another child the ropes. He's way too good a pony to be a field ornament and needs/thrives on work!
Up to date with vaccinations, teeth and farrier. Currently barefoot, but will need fronts on if doing more work, especially hacking.
Please only contact me if you are genuinely interested in coming to meet him. My youngest is finding the thought of him going very tough - so want to make this process as painless as possible. He is a much loved pony with his own fan club so will only go to the very best of homes.
First video is of his time with us, second video is with his previous owner doing his dressage/showing thing!
