- Darcy is a beautiful traditional cob mare 13.2hh 10 years. For the last year she has been a mother/daughter share for hacking, fun rides, prelim dressage and some showing. Previously she was a broodmare before being broken to ride. She has 3 lovely balanced paces and is forward thinking and off the leg without being strong in the arena and is an excellent hack both alone and in company. Not phased by anything; dogs, lorries, tractors, hedge cutters etc Also brilliant in open spaces and will go first or last and would never canter without being asked. I suspect she would make an outstanding hunter for a keen child. She loves jumping and is honest, bold and careful and really enjoys it. happily jumping 70-80cm courses with scope for more or equally will trot round smaller. Also has the potential to excel showing and is registered with The Gypsy Cob Association. Darcy is great to shoe, load and travel. generally good to catch once she knows you but easiest if headcollar is left on. She is a bit wary of strangers and in general is an independent sole who never is worried if left alone in field or stable. Darcy is friendly and good to handle but can be a little grumpy to tack up so just needs a firm but fair hand here. Being a native she does need some grass restriction in summer but can happily live out with this. She respects electric fencing so can be strip grazed easily. Good to clip but has not had her legs clipped out. Sad sale as daughter given up and she is realistically a bit small for mother. Suit small adult or teenager in an experienced family.
