Jack is a 4yo (2020) Irish Sport Horse gelding with unrecorded breeding standing approximately 16.1hh
He was imported from Ireland in March 2024 as a just sat on 4yo and we’ve taken our time to produce him slowly over the last 8 months and giving him a varied education.
Although still green in the school he has a willing and trainable attitude towards his work and is showing that he has 3 smart paces (a canter to die for!) that in time will no doubt produce a beautiful test.
Jack will hack alone and in company and hasn’t been phased by any traffic whilst with us - he may however still spook at silly things link a different colour patch in a hedge. He is also great in open spaces and is never strong or silly - everything we’ve done with him he’s been snaffle mouthed.
We have not over jumped him and have been slowly and carefully producing him with his future in mind. We have schooled away from home with other horses where he was sensible and well behaved, standing still when asked to whilst others jumped. He’s also attended unaffiliated SJ where he has jumped clear rounds.
Jack has also been schooling over XC fences at Pontispool and really impressed us with his attitude towards everything proving very bold. We jumped a variety of things including the water, ditch and trakehner. He certainly has plenty of ability and a very exciting future ahead of him.
Jack has also been Cubbing on a few occasions where he seems to have taken to it like a duck to water. He stands like a rock at the meet/out in the field and isn’t bothered at all by hounds running up behind him, underneath his nose or round his legs.
He is good for the farrier, vet, dentist, physio, load, travel and catch and has no vices.
We think he would really excel in an Eventing home but would also suit a high level all rounder type home. He can be sharp at times and feel he needs to build his trust in someone before giving his all to you so is therefore not suitable for a nervous or novice rider. We are ideally looking for someone competitive with experience of young/sharp horses who can continue to produce him to the superstar we know he is. References will be required before coming to try him.
We are asking £9,250 for him and looking for the right home to see him reach his full potential. We are based near Cullompton (10mins from J27 of the M5). Equally we are more than happy to continue producing him on behalf of an owner.
