- The Scottish Racing Academy are delighted to be partnering with Myerscough College to offer Level 2 & Level 3 Racing and Breeding Apprenticeships for those within a certain radius of Scotland (Cumbria, Northumberland, North Yorkshire). We will support both employers and potential apprentices to be successfully matched and complete all paperwork. Applications can be taken from existing members of staff, or we can support the recruitment of additional members of the workforce. If employers would like to enrol any of their current staff onto a qualification, please get in touch to find out more about the incentives available. If you are looking to find employment in the horse racing industry to complete an Apprenticeship, we have employers looking for staff with immediate starts. Some of the units you will complete are: • Horse anatomy, physiology and welfare • Horse Handling, Care and Welfare • The specific routines for working in a racing yard and taking horses racing including how to care for horses prior to and after strenuous work and racecourse performance • The industry protocol for taking a horse racing and how to lead up a Thoroughbred racehorse at the races. • Provides exercise regimes to racehorses as directed and effectively cares for horses prior to and after strenuous work and racecourse performance.
