Description
Our much loved pony is looking for a new home. Star ⭐ 16yo 13.2h Gelding Welsh B x Arab Never sick or sorry Up to date with vaccinations, teeth, worming, farrier, saddle checks and physio Lovely natured and very well-mannered both on the ground and in the stable. Can be led by children without pulling for grass or dragging them. Stands calmly for grooming and tacking up. Tolerates baths (doesn't love them). Good to clip—may fidget briefly but settles quickly. Never nasty; just a bit fidgety at times. He has previously been part of local Pony Club and done a bit of everything with us: Cross country Hunter trials Local clinics Show jumping Unaffiliated showing Dressage Beach ride Hacking Schooling Qualified and attended Sunshine Tours He is well-behaved when out at events. Stands quietly in a trailer/box or tied up with a hay net. Star has correct conformation and beautiful movement. Lots of untapped potential in the right hands with three lovely paces. He always comes home with positive comments and above 60% scores in dressage tests. He could do very well in this discipline as his movement is flashy when he is in an outline. Frequently placed in the top 4 in showing from the initial go-around and always placed. Well-liked by judges. Enjoys hacking and prefers company. Will hack alone with a confident rider—likely to nap initially and needs a firm but kind rider for reassurance. Can be strong but never bolts or leaves company. Has been known to have a bronk when excited to canter but not every time. Prefers following but will lead with a confident rider. He enjoys show jumping and looks after his rider. He would be quick and competitive with the right rider but will also calmly trot a 50/60cm course and then step up a gear when asked. He is a genuine and honest jumper. Great potential for rosettes with a speed-loving rider. He will be best suited to a confident teen or small adult. He takes confidence from his rider and can be spooky/sharp when nervous. Star is not for nervous riders as he can feed off their energy however goes beautifully with a confident rider. He is good with traffic and on the road. Good with farm machinery and cows. Things to Note: Loading has improved significantly with consistent work but he can take time to load, other times he walks straight on. Once loaded he travels calmly and unloads without fuss. Star can get attached to field companions and can at times be reluctant to leave the field if his friends stay behind. Not an every-time issue, but something to be aware of. He is NOT for a child coming off a lead rein pony or a novice straight from a riding school. He would thrive with a gutsy and confident rider to have fun with. He has a Fiona Cork custom made GP saddle and bridle that can be negotiated separately. He will come with his rug wardrobe. This is a heartbreaking sale of a very loved pony. Star means a great deal to us, and we want the very best home for him. No time wasters or joy riders - serious enquiries only, please. Phone calls only for enquiries.
