⭐ STAGBI registered, full recorded breeding
⭐ Up to date on teeth, vaccines, worming, farrier etc. etc.
*Important things to note*
1. Banksy was started last year as an 8 year old by myself. He has just over a year under saddle, so does not have the life experience of a typical 9YO. He has come on massively but is still green at times and rides most similar to a 5YO as this is his level of experience. He is not suitable for a novice/nervous rider.
2. Please take a moment to do a little bit of research on the breed if you aren't familiar. I will be happy to point you in the direction of some pages to look at ☺️. Banksy is a super little horse, although being a standardbred sometimes the movement can look a little different. He is improving every day but the canter does not come as naturally so it will take more time to develop than other breeds. I have plenty of videos so you can get a good idea of what he is like!
Now onto Banksy. He is the sweetest character, thrives off attention and cuddles, always wants to be with you and see what's going on. Will stand to be groomed all day long. Loves to learn and please, will try his best for you. He has learnt to ask very nicely for treats too😅
He was bought for myself to produce having previously been miss sold. He was initially quite nervous and found everything very new. He was with his breeder until 8YO In a field unbroken so this is completely understandable. We have spent lots of time working through all aspects of being a good citizen and he is now a pleasure to have around and is much more settled. All previous behaviour will be discussed with anyone interested. All of his ground work and backing process has been completed by myself so full ridden history is known.
Hacking:
His favourite activity is hacking and he loves going to explore new places. He's good in all traffic and kept on a working farm so used to large machinery and livestock. He's been to the beach and in the sea, even going for a swim! Will go first or last. Doesn't get over excited in open spaces or large groups he stays the same and trots/canters politely on a loose rein. He is a pleasure in company, even if other horses get wound up or spook it doesn't affect him, and he just keeps tootling along. He will also hack alone with a more experienced rider, which he is now doing regularly.
Jumping:
This little guy has a cracking pop on him and most importantly he loves it. Honest as they come, and careful, will jump out of a trot or canter. Currently popping around 70/80cm including planks/fillers, has been to arena hires and pony club seeing lots of bright jumps. He recently had his first taste of XC schooling. He happily does steps/water/ditches and jumped a variety of fences up to 70/80cm. He was green at times but tackled everything asked of him, super for a first try.
Schooling:
We have been working hard on his schooling. He is still green and sometimes wiggly but he will walk, trot, canter and stop sweetly. Enjoys polework exercises and he parks at the mounting block for you to get on. He is learning to work in a nice contact, still some work needed on the consistency but he is getting there. Being a standardbred his paces are walk/trot/canter but the canter is still a work in progress. He tries his very best but can still get his legs mixed up and it becomes a bit of a tranter! He has never been trained to pace so doesn't do this as a gait.
Liberty/groundwork:
I like to teach all my horses basic liberty and Banksy really enjoys this. He's an Incredibly quick learner. He will follow in walk/trot, stop and back up at liberty. He knows turn on the forehand, parks at the mounting block and understands to give to pressure.
He is good to do in all ways, regularly handled and ridden by a 13 year old girl also. He is barefoot but good for farrier, hasn't been shod but believe he could be if required. Good to load but can take a minute with a new trailer. clipped loose in his stable, good to bath. Will live out or in, good with other horses and is currently turned out in a herd of geldings.
Based Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border with excellent trial facilities including indoor/outdoor arenas with lights, full course of show jumps and hacking straight from the yard.
The right home is most important for Banksy to continue his education
